BEopt 2.8 won't start - crashes on start

Last week BEopt was working fine, today clicking the shortcut or the program directly from the file folder produces zip. zero. nada. A search of the C:drive reveals crash reports coincident with every click. Restarting the computer does not help. Uninstalling and re-installing BEopt does not help. Uninstalling recent MS system patches does not help. Oddly, two other machines in our office CAN run it. I wish I could enjoy this result more: "FriendlyEventName=Stopped working." I can't identify anything different between them except the recent MS patches. Can anyone else relate or help? Here's the error code:
