Setpoint temperature schedule in Openstudio

I am running a simulation for a single-story building on Openstudio v 1.12, I am facing the following problem:

When I open the .OSM file using openstudio, running the simulation with only considering cooling thermostat setpoint temperature gives me a realistic results in terms of energy consumption (comparing to actual bills). However, I came to know that I need to use dual setpoint for the openstudio v1.12, so by setting the cooling setpoint as 21 C and the heating as 0 C (or any other value) the energy consumption results are 4 times greater.

I wanted to know what setpoint temperature the software is using for cooling, so from the energyplus output file (eplustbl.htm) I found that the thermostat Setpoint and Indoor temperature at peak load is 0 C for the case when I do not consider adding heating setpoint while it was showing 21 C when I considered that. My question is that, what is the default cooling setpoint that openstudio used when I didn't consider the heating setpoint (Dual setpoint)? and any suggestions to resolve the problem??

It seems that I cannot upload a file because I am a new member.

Thank you !

I just did that, thank you!

You can read the engineering reference of EnergyPlus. I use the engineering reference of EnergyPlus V8.7. The temperature control logic is introduced in 19.5.12.2.

You can check the example files that come with EnergyPlus ( ~\EnergyPlusV8-9-0\ExampleFiles) and search for a project that have duel set point.
