Viewing Daylighting control settings in OS model

asked 6 years ago

Hello everyone,

I am using DOE prototype Large office model OS model that has been extracted from CBECC-COM. When I look at the HTML reports, I am able to see that there are daylighting controls modeled, but not sure where to locate them in the openstudio interface. Can I get some help with that?

Thanks Ranjani

@Ranjani, In the CBECC-Com interface, on the Envelope tab, if you right-click on a BuildingStory object in your model, you should see an option 'View BuildingStory Footprint'. This will create an svg graphics file that shows the spaces, windows, daylit zones, and pri/sec control points in plan view.

These locations match how they get translated to OS/E+. When you run CBECC, it generates an OSM, and if you open that model in SketchUp, you should see the points there as well.

There is really no facility to do anything with the daylighting controls in the app. You can view/place/edit them with the SketchUp plugin, for what that's worth.
