Hello everyone, I was working on my model and saved it normally. When I tried to open the file again to continue, Sketchup did not show me any surface even when I open the OpenStudio Inspector and the surfaces are there. I have already tried to run the OSM Diagnostic Script which gives me this:

Model has 0 objects

Model has 0 thermal zones

Model has 0 spaces

Model has 0 base surfaces

Model has 0 sub surfaces

Model has 0 shading surfaces

Model has 0 interior partition surfaces

I do not understand why this is happening since no errors are detected. Hope someone can help. Best regards, Nuno Saraiva

Did you save the .osm file or just the .skp file?

I saved the .osm file and if I open it with OpenStudio the file is ok (the geometry is correct). The problem is I want to continue the geometry and I can not since there are no surfaces.

Cross posting of https://github.com/NREL/OpenStudio/is.... Unless you know for sure it's a bug, posting on UnmetHours first (and only) is preferred, thank you!

To achieve the fastest resolution possible, could you host your file somewhere (google drive, box, wetransfer, whatever) and add a link here?

@NunoSaraiva when you say geometry looks fine in OpenStudio, do you mean OS app, geometry tab? Try launching SketchUp, then use the OSM Open, without opening a SKP file. Does that work? If it does use the SaveAs in OpenStudio file toolbar to save the OSM as a new name. Now turn off auto-save in SketchUp and then open the SKP file. Doing this may clear away OSM content as it is making a new OSM. Now re-load the OSM file using the OpenStudio toolbar. You should have the OSM and SKP content both visible. Don't the SKP file while the OSM is still open. Let me know if this works.

First, thank you all for the responses. @Julien Marrec I am sorry for the misunderstanding. Sadly, I am affraid I am not allowed to share the file. @David Goldwasser I mean in the OS app yes and the light simulations go without problems. When you say open an OSM file without a SKP file, the SketchUp does not allow to open a OSM file without a SKP file opened. It automatically creates one new SKP file. Normally I just save the OSM and don't the SKP. At this time I only have .OSM file, and when opened only the North Axis (orange) appears and nothing else more.

@NunoSaraiva if you can privately share the file, you can email to openstudio@nrel.gov and we can take a look at it. I suspect if you open it with a text editor, everything is there, otherwise you wouldn't see it in the OS app. First thing I might do is save a copy of it so you can keep that clean. Can you provide some more history, about the file. Was it made in older version of OpenStudio and then upgraded, did it come from another design tool. What if you SaveAs in OS app and then try to open that copy in SketchUp Plugin.

@David Goldwasser Yes, actually the project started with the last version of OS plugin and then automatically converted by the software but there were no problems. It was not the first time it happened to me but I always re-did everything from previous files. This time the amount of work and time was bigger and I was trying to recover the file. I opened the file with Notepad and everything is there. I have already tried to open the file in other computer and it has the same problem: no errors but no surfaces. I will try to send the file to the email mentioned.
