No flow through bypass branch, EnergyPlus

I am currently looking at the demand side of a loop that has a heat exchanger and a bypass pipe. I want to use the heat exchanger availability to turn it off for certain hours and have the flow go through the bypass. Right now no flow goes through the bypass and the whole loop is basically turning off when the heat exchanger is off. I have attached a screen shot of my heat exchanger inputs, excluding the availability schedule. The bypass branch is an adiabatic pipe and is correctly attached to the required connectors. Does anyone know why the flow will not go through this bypass branch? Please let me know if any additional information would be useful.
