I added Sketchup 2018 as my default drawing viewer for DXF files but when I try to open the Drawing file on EP-launch it gives an error message. Any help is greatly appreciated.

SketchUp can't view DXF through File/Open, so you probably can't launch SketchUp from another application to directly see the DXF file. You should be able to manually launch SketchUp, use to File/Import/DXF to view the DXF file. I noticed you tagged this question as legacy-openstudio. You can open the DXF with standards install of DXF, but if you have the legacy plugin (now Euclid) you can also just open the IDF file, unless you specifically want to DXF to double check something about EnergyPlus handling of geometry.
