How can I set an air flow network to simulate a solar chimney which depends on buoyancy effect ?

I would like to simulate a solar chimney by the air flow network however I could not understand what kind of settings of the air flow network have to be installed to simulate a solar chimney that depends on buoyancy effect.

The next problem relates to the output variable name. I need to have volume flow rate of the thermal chimney from the outlet but I do not know what kind of variable name helps to reach the result.

The ZoneThermalChimney object does not interact with the airflow network. The documentation for the airflow network is pretty clear that several of the simpler airflow objects don't work with when the airflow network is simulating. I haven't confirmed this, but I suspect that when you have an airflow network operating, the ZoneThermalChimney falls under the same constraint.

Yes, the airflow network does simulate buoyancy effects, but so does the ZoneThermalChimney object (see the engineering reference documentation). They just won't work together. You can potentially describe the thermal chimney as a separate, stacked zones in the airflow network, but if you only need to simulate the buoyancy in the chimney you should use the ZoneThermalChimney object.

i dont want to integrate the thermal chimney object with the air flow network , actually I model a cube like the solar chimney in the ecotect software then I insert the idf file to the enregy plus and now I would like to set the air flow net work to simulate the cube as solar chimney but I dont know what kind of settings it needs .

it is important for me to simulate the buoyancy effect in the airflow net work .

You can follow some of the suggestions mentioned in this post about how to stack zones to account for stratification related to the buoyancy effect, but there are caveats to all of the approaches, including the examples with the AirflowNetwork.

I also ran across an IBPSA paper on the subject that might be useful.

I HAVE THE EXPERIENCE OF THERMAL CHIMNEY MODULE BUT I WANNA MODEL IT WITH AIR FLOW NETWORK SO PLEASE GUIDE ME TO SET AIRFLOW NET TO AFFECT THE BUOYANCY DEVICE THANKS .
