Radiance does not install

asked 6 years ago

I have downloaded the installer from Radiance from here.

When I install it the installation jumps from 2/3rds to full installation. The installers says its complete, but no desktop icon appears even though I have indicated I wanted one. In my programs list I can see it there, but there is no icon, just a blue field. When I go to the installed map it shows me the uninstall, the bin map and the lib map. Am I missing something here? It seems like an incomplete installation. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong here?

Which version did you try, which version of Windows are you using, and the Desktop icon is nonsense/pointless anyway.

It does seem like you have a half-a**ed installation, not sure what went awry. Make sure you are using the 5.2.0 installer (and FYI I am planning to make a new set of installers this week), and maybe off a clean reboot of your system, for starters, and we'll go from there.

I tried versions 5.1 and 5.2 on Windows 10, but the results are the same. I haven't tried the reboot yet, but I will start my computer tomorrow again and see what happens.

Have you tried installing it on a Linux based system instead? I had the same problem with the windows installation procedure and switching to a Linux operating system helped me.
