I have created a measure that adds a CHP unit electrically (loadcenterdistribution) but I am not sure how to link with a thermal loop e.g. reduction in NG consumption for water heating. Any suggestions?

There is a related question on microturbines but this question is specifically for CHP with a prime purpose of generating electricity and a secondary purpose of providing thermal generation. I can get the CHP electrical output but can't work out how to hook up the thermal off-take to reduce the water heating or space heating thermal loads.

I see. Keep Calm and Carry On.

You need to connect it to the supply side of your plant loop, and ensure you get an adequate PlantEquipmentOperation:HeatingLoad: the most robust way is to explicitly create it yourself, and place the CHP first, then the water heater. Set your PlantLoop Load distribution scheme to "SequentialLoad".

Hi @love123, I am also trying to simulate a building with decentral gas combined heat power using OS for the first time, did you manage to do it ? If so, could please you tell me about it ? (if you have screenshots of the HVAC or .osm example models, it would help a lot) Thanks :)
