Is it possible to model the photovoltaic system connected with heat pump, refrigerant loop in EnergyPlus?
To my best knowledge that is not possible in OS or in E+.
Maybe you can use SolarCollector:FlatPlate:PhotovoltaicThermal (PVT) which you can connect to a Water to Water Heat Pump at the source side. You will probably have to tweak the performance in order to reach the predicted DX performance.
@Avi Thank you for your kind answer. I want to ask more about tweak the performance thing. Is that mean that I can model the refrigerant loop by modeling a water loop instead and make some revision on performance coefficient inside EnergyPlus idf file then get a result looks like a result of a refrigerant loop? I am asking because I am not sure that I understood right.

@dana Do you refer to PV powered Heat Pump or do you refer Solar-assisted heat pump?
@Avi It is a solar-assisted heat pump with a refrigerant loop on the source side and a water loop on the demand side, but a little bit different. It can produce pv power and thermal energy as well but also can dissipate heat. Moreover, It is not only using solar but also nocturnal. I think it might be a little bit different what people usually think solar-assisted heat pump. Is this system able to be modeled with EnergyPlus?
@Avi I want to figure out whether EnergyPlus can model a refrigerant loop on the source side.
