I simulated an one level residential house with a horizontal ceiling. I tried to create a measure about adding R-Value of Insulation for Ceiling by modifying the existing measure "Increase R-value of Insulation for Roofs to a Specific Value". I replaced the word "roof" to "ceiling" in the measure and change the Outside Boundary Condition from "Outdoor" to "Surface". (It succeed when I modified "Increase R-value of Insulation for External Walls to a Specific Value" to Floor)

I ran the new measure in PAT, but it's failed with initial condition:" The building had 1 Ceiling constructions: Ceiling (R-19.9)". Is that because the material of floor in the roof zone has to be changed at the same time as they are the same material? If so, how to do that?

The created measure file for ceilings and original downloaded measure file for roofs are hosted here.

Depending on how your model is set up, your ceiling + roof could be one surface in OpenStudio. Unless you explicitly have a space that is meant to represent an attic, this will be the case, and you should just use the measure as-is.

Yes, there is a attic space and I want to change the ceiling (or the floor in the attic space). However, the existing measure "Increase R-value of Insulation for Roofs to a Specific Value" only works with roof construction instead of ceiling. I ran the simulation with the measure and it only changed the roof construction.
