How to render by data

Cannot find "render by data" mode in SketchUp... And one more: how to calculate daylight factor instead of absolute illuminance? There is an output in E+, but don't see it in OS.

@Dinosaver the render by data feature in the new OpenStudio plug-in was deprecated. We hope to bring that functionality back in the form of a web based 3D rendering widget that could be embedded in the output of a measure.

For now, you might try loading your IDF into the legacy SketchUp plug-in and using the render by data feature there.

It is only for 2014 SketchUp and E+ 8.1 if I'm not mistaking... Ok, will try, but the idea was great, many people were impressed by colorful pictures, do not play with it too much :)

Render by Data does not work - it does not load the sql file while Results Viewer sees it well. Also there are bugs with finding paths for E+ engine... Sad.

Dinosaver are you using the Legacy OpenStudio plugin, or the new one? If you're using the new one, go to File>Scan for Tools and it will record the location of E+. OpenStudio 1.6.0 uses E+ 8.2, which is included in the installer.

As @macumber mentioned, only Legacy plugin has Render by data function now. I found out that it does not work with SketchUp 2014 at all, even E+ simulations cannot be run. With 2013th it runs E+ but still cannot upload sql files and render the model...

Hi @Dinosaver , @macumber and @aparker , is there any news related to that deprecated feature? I was also impressed by rendering the building by data (surface temperature, etc.), it's really useful for customers and identifying key points to improve (thermal level). I have SketchUp Make v15 + OpenStudio 1.7 + OpenStudio SketchUp Plguin 1.7 ...

It is unlikely that we will bring that feature back to the SketchUp plug-in. The ViewData measure is the replacement for OpenStudio. Unfortunately we are no longer able to support the legacy plug-in.

Try using the ViewData reporting measure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlrWE...
