ASHRAE Appendix G Baseline Constructions for EnergyPlus

asked 2018-01-04 01:09:28 -0600

Is there an .idf file source for ASHRAE Appenidx G baseline constructions for each climate zone for use in EnergyPlus? I'm aware of the ASHRAE_2005_HOF_Materialsfile, but a database of Appendix G constructions would be really useful. I know this exists to pull into OpenStudio, so would that also mean it could be used in EnergyPlus?

I opened a blank OpenStudio model and imported all of the ASHRAE 189.1 construction sets for all climate zones, then ran it and saved the .idf file. This way I at least have a range of U-values for roofs and exterior walls.

When you run the OpenStudio simulation after running the create DOE prototype building measure (you can see that video for how to) OS will translate the model to IDF file format. you can find it under your_project_name_folder\run\in.idf
