I've got a strange issue where files do not load in OS when i double click on the input file. I'll select the osm of interest and OS will open but with an empty osm. I then have to open the desired osm from within OS.

certainty not a big deal but slightly annoying. probably more to do with some setting on my machine than OS but, as it only seems to happen with OS, I thought id see if anyone had any insight.

Windows 10 Pro OS 2.3.0 (but I feel like this was happening with 2.2 as well)

I'm pretty sure the cause is whitespace in the file path. I've filed an issue for it; no fix as of yet (except get rid of whitespace in your path).

I agree it's annoying.
