I get different results when simulating the same model on openstudio and then exporting the model to EnergyPlus and run it.

Everything seems ok but the Water Heating Reate, WATER HEATER STRATIFIED.image description(/upfiles/15101820105425234.png)

The results with EnergyPlus is ten times bigger than the one obtained with OpenStudio. The rest of the outputs are the same.

Does anyone know how to solve this or why is it caused?

Thanks in advanceimage description(/upfiles/15101823277494317.png)

So is the water the only thing that is different? I assume you are using same weather file or other values would also be different. This seems really odd, if you look at the IDF file that is in the OpenStudio run directory, does it look different than the IDF you ran through EnergyPlus. If you have any EnergyPlus measures they are not applied to exported IDF, but are applied to simulations ran through OpenStudio, but don't expect that is the case here.

Yes, only the water. Yes, I am using the same weather file. Regarding what you mentioned about the measures. How can I check they're being exported? Thanks in advance.

If you have a measure in your workflow that operates on the IDF file vs. the OSM file, an example would be the tariff measure, that code won't be in an exported IDF but would be in the IDF in the OpenStudio run directory. I don't think this is the case here unless you are using an energy plus measure to alter your water system.

In the "run" directory for your OpenStudio model there should be both an "in.osm" and "in.idf" along side the energy other energy plus files. Can you compare that IDF file to the one you exported from the file menu, specifically for the objects affected here.

Can you also specify what version of OpenStudio you are using.

OpenStudio 2.1.0 EnergyPlus version 8.7

I am comparing the files you have told me and I cannot spot any difference. The measures I applied on my Openstudio Model are AedgK12RoofConstruction and AedgK12ExteriorWallConstruction that should not affect the water system.

Please find in the link the two files you mentioned in.idf and in.osm. I don't know if you find the error there.

Thanks
