Heating Boiler with outdoor temp compensation
I would like to ask if there is any way to create a setpoint to an energyplus program in order to have an outdoor temperature compensation for the boiler in the heating loop.
Thank you in advance.
Are you familiar with the SetpointManager:OutdoorAirReset and SetpointManager:FollowOutdoorAirTemperature objects?
Thank you for your response. I have used both of them, but as a result i 've noticed a very low annual energy consumption from the heating system. I also checked the zone temperatures and they were too low, while the boiler's outlet temperature was extremely low as well. Do you have any advise for the above problems?
Thank you in advance
what are your setpoints? and what are you assuming for sizing? do plant output variables show the temperature and flows you expect? Are your equipment schedules enabled when you want them to be?
I have set SetpointManager:Scheduled for the DHW systems and the Heating system. But i replaced the schedule for the heating system with a SetpointManager:OutdoorAirReset. I also use SetpointManager:SingleZone Heating to control the zones of my model. Yes all the equipment schedules are enabled when i want them to be. The temperatures are not what i expect (Zone temperatures and boiler outlet temperature).
What is your boiler outlet temperature set to? And what are the inputs to the setpoint on the plant loop and system sizing on the plant loop? You can edit the original question to provide that detail.
The Design Water Outlet Temperature is set to 82oC. For the Heating plantloop i have set 100oC Maximum Loop Temperature and 0oC as Minimum Loop Temperature, while i have set "autosize" in Maximum Loop Flow Rate.
