Using DesignBuilder...

Trying to run simulations in EnergyPlus and there are lots of errors in my branches. Some objects are either blank or incorrect, so my simulation is giving hundreds of severe errors. However, I am able to run a simulation in DesignBuilder, just not in EnergyPlus. Is there something wrong with my EP launch or the IDF editor? The DesignBuilder Helpdesk said they were able to run the simulation without errors, but my EP is giving tons of errors.

Any suggestions for what could be wrong?

What EnergyPlus version is the IDF in? and what version of EP-launch are you using? The Branch objects in older versions (till 8.5 ) of energy plus had the second field as Maximum Flow rate. However, this field does not exist anymore after version 8.6.

If the IDF is version 8.5 or older, then make sure that you open the file using the corresponding version of EP-Launch. This issue should not show up then.

If your IDF is 8.6 version of after, you can fix this error by opening your IDF in text editor and deleting the second line (with autosize, - make sure that you delete the comma in this line as well) for each of the branch object. You can then try reopening the IDF in IDF editor to fix this error.
