Hello All, I want to calculate (break down) zone wise load in my EnergyPlus idf. I have idealLoad system and tried to calculate zone wise load by typing in Output:Variable,*,Zone Ideal Loads Supply Air Total Heating Energy,RunPeriod; but it is always less than Output:Meter,DistrictHeating:Facility,RunPeriod;. The same goes for Cooling energy as well. Is there something wrong?

I have also tried to add a Meter:Custom to find individual zone's load by looking at the .mtd file and have added the following code.

Meter:Custom, Waseem, DistrictHeating, *, Zone Ideal Loads Supply Air Total Heating Energy;

This is not working as well. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks

Kindest Regards

Waseem

Hi Waseem,

As far as I know the zone level loads should add up to the district report. However, you may have other loads or losses in your district heating / cooling system? For example, do you have domestic hot water on the district heating system? Check over your district heating / plant loop idf lines to see if there are any losses assigned for piping etc. I would also double check the units of the two reports.
