OpenStudio 2.2.0 Crashing
Is anyone having trouble with OpenStudio 2.2.0 crashing? I'm getting a message stating OpenStudio has stopped working. It happens when I try to go from different tabs...ie from Space tab to Construction tab.
Can you include a little more information? What's your operating system (eg: Windows 10)? Can you be more precise about what makes it crash? (eg: I do this specific action on the space tab then quickly click on the construction tab, then it crashes immediately) Can you give us steps to repeatedly reproduce it? Is it on a specific model or all models?
And FYI, the process to report bugs/crash is more about searching for similar issues on github, and then posting one if you cannot find it. See: https://github.com/NREL/OpenStudio/is...
I'm operating on WIndows 10. It's crashing on all of my models and not just one specific scenario. I'll open the file and be able to see the spaces tab and when I click any of the facilities tab, construction tab, or HVAC tab the model will try and open those tabs and then crashes immediately. The error reads "OpenStudio has stopped working". I wasn't aware of github so thanks for that tip...I'll search there and see if I find any similar issues.
Try letting the app sit for a bit after opening/loading - like 30 seconds before trying to navigate to another tab. This was a bug that should have been fixed in 2.2.0, but one never knows.
Have you only used OpenStudio to edit your model? Or did you edit the model in a text editor? The app will crash if you made a mistake editing the model in a text editor.
lbrackney - thanks, letting the application sit for a few minutes after opening did help. Now I'm able to navigate without it crashing. However, the model now crashes after I complete a successful model run...this was happening to me when I was using v2.1.0. It's still frustrating but at least I can look at the results by opening the html file in the reports folder that's produced.
