Which data from the weather file is used by OpenStudio to run Radiance simulations?

Hi all,

Does anyone know which data from the weather file is used by OpenStudio to run Radiance simulations?

Hourly direct normal and diffuse horizontal radiation values are pulled out of the epw file (with the Radiance utility epw2wea) and saved as a "DAYSIM format" .wea file. This .wea file is then passed directly to the Radiance simulation tools (mainly gendaylit).

@rpg777 wea actually takes direct normal radiation and diffuse horizontal *radiation and not the illuminance.

Thank you, Rob and Mostapha! Now I have another question which might not be relevant to this forum. But does anyone of you by any chance know what type of sensors is appropriate for measuring this data in a real building (direct normal and diffuse horizontal radiation)?
