OpenStudio Measures Treasure - Discussion

asked 7 years ago

updated 7 years ago

Hi everyone,

After teaching the OpenStudio tool for almost 2 years for my previous employer, I've moved back to the commercial modeling world (2 weeks back) & trying to push the use of OpenStudio at my current company.

I am quite familiar with the OpenStudio measure groups (private & public) & also understands their exploitation/exploration for the public use. Being a member of unmethours for 2 years, I am more active here in terms of answering the questions & understand the thought process.

I think some of you might already have posted it somewhere, but I thought of brushing your memory on this one more time. Do you guys think it's a great idea to create a "treasure" of OS measures (not the BCL ones) to share it with everyone. I have some good measures that I've written (note: I am not talking about my work I did for my previous employer) & I am willing to share it with everyone if you guys think it's a good idea. There are almost 250 OS measures at BCL but I feel we need some more what I don't see in "measures roadmap" excel document.

I feel these measure scripts are one of the powerful features that tool got, and things will be more diverse for rest of us if this "treasure" thing can be developed.

I might sound ambitious or ignorant here, but I would love to know the thoughts from others on this.

Thanks, Harshul Singhal

If you're on github, @MatthewSteen can add you to the Unmet Hours group, which has a spot to upload shared measures!

Look for @harshul263 there. I think I can see the measures in the given link & remember getting an email from you couple of months back on it. But maybe I just see some public stuff, not private.
