The last question in the CBECC General FAQ's says the following:

"The Air System and Zone System windows contain a Count that is set to 1 by default. Set the Count to the number of systems that need to be replicated. Then go to all the Thermal Zones that will be using the Air or Zone Systems, and select that system in the Primary Htg/Clg System drop down box. The components connected to the Air or Zone System have a Componet Qty that will match the System multiplier and is not-user editable."

This made me believe that you could assign the same system type to multiple thermal zones with the same design load and just set the system count to the number of thermal zones using that system type. However, when I run my model, I get the following error:

"[thermal zone] is served by an AirSys, but is not referenced by a TerminalUnit. Revise model to include a TerminalUnit that references this ThermalZone"

Do I have to create a terminal unit for each thermal zone that will be served by that system type, or just create a unique system for each thermal zone?

You have to create a terminal unit for each thermal zone.

does that not make it look more like a multi-zone system, versus several different single-zone systems?
