Running an OpenStudio model with a packaged rooftop air conditioner, and adjusted the heating setpoints such that they would not turn on. We do not have a hot water loop. However, the natural gas heating is still deployed, however minimally, throughout the year. Any idea as to why?

If you don't have it, can't you just delete the hot water coils and plant loop?

@mcdonaa1, please tag questions with software you are using, e.g., 'openstudio'.

We do have it, but the occupants say they never turn it on... that being said, does the model ever kick on heating for air conditioning to dry out humid air before cooling it back down the desired temperature? Could that be causing the minimal heating load I am experiencing from the packaged unit?

I'm not entirely sure without looking at your model. It would only add heat to the air stream if it would otherwise fall below the setpoint.
