Surface Matching Different Sized Floors Issue

So the building I am Modeling has different layouts for each floor. Some Buildings have the same overall shape but different layout inside. Others are smaller in overall shape. I am using the surface matching tool to intersect the entire model and then matching entire model. Everything gets matched except for a few spots of the in between floors where it thinks the bottom floor ceilings are outside bound and the top floors are ground bound. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this.image description

@edgarr How did you create the sub-surfaces on your floors and ceilings? Did you use the surface intersection tool on OpenStudio in SketchUp? I noticed that this surface intersection tool often creates non-convex surfaces that often do not to match. I suggest running the surface intersection and surface matching measures on OpenStudio. I was able to avoid most of these matching issues when I ran the measures. The answers on this question might be useful.

@rsunnam yes that intersect measure from openstudio worked much better. The surface match measure from openstudio isnt as good. But overall the whole building site got matched up to 95%. There is two spots where it did not match but it should be an easy fix. Thank you so much.

@edgarr Great! Glad that helped. If I may add, I noticed in most of my previous models that any remaining surfaces that do not match are often a result of surfaces that are slightly away from their intended coordinates. This is often caused due to the snapping issues with Sketchup when we draw the zones one-by-one. For future models, you might want to try the tool "Create spaces from Diagram" in OpenStudio for SketchUp. It could mitigate these drawing issues. For this model, manually fixing the remaining surfaces on text editor or sketchup would probably be the quickest fix.
