Can I run algorithmic workflows on local workstations?

I need to run a large number of models by using OpenStudio 2.1. I want to use some algorithmic methods such as LHS to reduce the number of models. According to OpenStudio Release Notes, OpenStudio 2.1's PAT can do this work. Now, I want to know whether I can do the work on local workstations and whether I can use CLI to call compact.osw, reduce the number of models through a certain algorithmic method and then run all the models? Because there are too many models, I hope I can do the work automatically. If it is possible, please tell me the detailed method to do the work.

I am running Openstudio2.1.0 on windows. What actually you mean by "mini-server"? Does it run automatically when pushing "Start Local Server" of new PAT GUI? Or, should I start separately the OpenStudio-server on my local windows machine ( via Docker/VirtualBox) then connect it to PAT?

PAT launches its own server to handle the simulations. No need to start it manually.

I can not run PAT's own server on my Windows 8pro. Even by starting local server via server tools, there is no response from the local server. The task manager(windows) suggests that "mongod.exe" starts with "Start Local Sever", then it dissapears in few minutes. Do you know whete the launching log file is? What excactly "PAT launches its own server" means? I think the workaround is to set-up local OS-sever by using docker-compose.deploy.yml in my local windows machine, does it make any sense?.

To be more precise, running PAT application on windows automatically run several process including mongod.exe, three ruby runtime process.. etc. After several minutes, I can access http://localhost:8080/ a.k.a. Dashboard. But the "Server Status" of Run windows never gets ok status

The workaround is to set up local OS-server via Docker-compose/VirutalBox combination and I can connect this remote sever (docker container) and completed the "Office_HVAC" example. The pit-fall is it requires 3G memory on VirtualBox.

Does the path of PAT in your PC have space?
