AirLoopHVAC Control Zone

asked 2017-04-01 14:39:48 -0600

In AirLoopHVAC:UnitarySystem it appears possible to set a/the Control Method to a Controlling Zone. I've run through the documentation, but I havent come across a means to do this with any other AirLoopHVAC objects. Is this single zone control-ability unique to the UnitarySystem?

If I understand this properly, the control zone will control the Main Heat/Cooling/Dehminidification/fan, and any other zones will ride along....yes? I can also add the OA objects need, per [this question] https://unmethours.com/question/9882/...

Am I missing something here? Is there some other SingleZone w/ slave zone type options/objects/configurations? This approach may work for now, but my 'real' system system order is different than the Unitary. Thanks.

Hi @dradair,

As the I/O reference guide points, the unique aspect of a AirLoopHVAC:UnitarySystem is that it accommodates all types of coils and fans. Fig 1.120 in the I/O reference gives an overview of all the different types of AirLoop objects and the kinds of components that they support.

If you are trying to condition a multiple zones based on the thermostat in a master zone using AirLoopHVAC object, you can use the "SetpointManager:SingleZone:" objects. The "Control zone Name" field can be set to the zone with the master thermostat. Is this what you are trying to do?
