replacing osm geometry changes from one file to another

Hi All, I have created a baseline model and proposed model in open studio. As usual, I have had to change geometry in the tool and am trying to match get the changes done in the baseline model too. Since, I have used the same parent file- same space names, thermal zone names, i hoped that copying the changes would be easy enough. I tried using import envelope and idf measure, but the zone equipment seems to have lost its association and crashes when the thermal zone or plant loop tabs are selected. Is there an alternate merge solution to this?

Try the "Merge Spaces from External Model" user script in the SketchUp Plugin. It is demonstrated in this video. You will have to re-match surfaces after merging geometry from one model to another.

You could also try the Create Baseline Model measure on BCL to create a baseline from your proposed model. We have a video for the baseline measure as well.

@David, thank you! I tried the merge spaces by deleting the spaces and merging those spaces. The only setback is the the space to zone linkage is gone. Given my scenarios, this worked out to be the least time consuming solution. I needed to keep everything associated with zone the same- baseline systems configuration was already in place.

Create Baseline model is a great resource, but I cannot use it because I need to evaluate a measure by measure analysis(Lighting, Ext wall, Roof etc). It would be great if the measure had components split up- like apply lighting only or HVAC only et

It is possible at some point in the future we will have more modular application of baseline. The user script should keep the zone assignment of the currently opened model. https://github.com/NREL/OpenStudio/bl...

Not sure why I didn't do the same with SpaceType. At some point we will have a more robust modular stand alone measure for this. Lets you choose if you want to merge geometry, internal loads, and space attributes.

Has this measure been updated to keep the zone assignment?
