How to control Zone air temp in radiant cooling panels in E+?

Hello Guys,

I actually modeled a hydronic radiant cooling system in Energy plus using ZoneHVAC: LowTempRadiant: VariableFlow for a zone and I got the results as well. The controllers used for this object are on water side mostly. However, Now I want to model the radiant hydronic cooling system using the zone air temperature set point. In other words, I want to model the radiant panel and find the panel's heat transfer, water mass flow rate, etc. based on fixed constant zone air temperature, so that I get the constant temperature (cooling set point= 24 C) as zone air temperature. Does any one know how to do this in Energy plus? I actually tried to define (ZoneControl:Thermostat) but did not work, since it is mostly used for forced air systems (not the radiant panels)

I'll appreciate if any one can help me with this.

Thanks, Mjc

LowTempRadiant:VariableFlow doesn't listen to external thermostat controllers. You set the type of control you want in the Temperature Control Type field (in your case you probably want to set this to MeanAirTemperature and then you define your heating and cooling schedules in the Heating Control Temperature Schedule Name and Cooling Control Temperature Schedule Name.

Check out the Input/Output Reference; explains it pretty clearly.

@mjc_respect ...Are you doing design of radiant cooling system with energy plus? I have few queries can I ask you as I am new to this energy plus and radiant cooling.
