I am modeling a building that uses DOAS w/ DCV and active chilled beams. The ACB is constant volume and DOAS is variable volume, so I model ACB using FCUs. Now the question is how can I implement DCV in DOAS? I turn the DCV on in the control and the outdoor air seems correct. But the DOAS supply air is not 100% OA. Where can I set the DOAS to be 100% OA while the OA cfm might vary?

In the OS:Controller:OutdoorAir object of the outside air (DOAS) loop, check the 'Minimum Fraction of Outdoor Air Schedule Name' and 'Maximum Fraction of Outdoor Air Schedule Name'. Make sure they are not following any schedule.

Some other miscellaneous DOAS tips

  • At the terminal unit level, set the 'control for outdoor' to 'Yes'
  • The top of your DOAS air loop should have 3 tabs. 'Layout', 'Control' and 'Grid'. Go to the 'Control' tab and make sure all the schedules are correctly assigned
