I have a building plan made in legacy open studio, and I want to experiment simulations(daylight) having 12 x 12 m room. Simulations are:

  1. window only in north direction.
  2. window only in east direction.
  3. window only in west direction.
  4. window only in east direction.

For each time I need to make geometry in legacy open studio or can it happen by changing north direction? If yes, how?

You can change the building's rotation under the Building object using the inspector.

This can also be done in the Facility tab of OS app. This scenario is very similar to the ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G requirement for the baseline model (average of 4 rotations). For this I recommend using PAT with the Rotate Building Relative to Current Orientation measure.

@hema - the north axis is specified in the Building object in the Simulation Parameters group.

If you want to do this in PAT, use this measure that is on the BCL:

https://bcl.nrel.gov/node/37877

It will allow you to rotate your building. I use this measure for LEED baseline models to create all 4 necessary models (0, 90, 180, 270).
