Chilled Water Loop Hourly Results

In eQuest I could setup a hourly report to give me the total connected load on the chilled water loop for all 8760 hours of the year. I normally combine this with the outdoor air dry bulb and wetbulb for simulation of a custom chilled water plant.

I am new to energyplus and cannot figure out how to do the same using Openstudio. Any bumps in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a list and descriptions of the PlantLoop object output variables.

This answer gives a good summary of previous discussion of how to add output variables to an OpenStudio simulation and how to get the results in a useful form.

This put me in the right direction. I had already found the output variable I needed but just wasn't sure it was the correct one so this verified my assumptions. Also, the link was a great reference. Thank You.

I don't know about OS, but in EnergyPlus there is an input object called LoadProfile:Plant. This can be used to put a load on a chiller plant and run models with no building.

LoadProfile:Plant is available in OpenStudio (since I think v1.9.0). It can be found in the Library pane of the HVAC Systems tab.

This didn't directly answer my question but did clue me into a new capability I didn't realize was available. I do a lot of chiller plants so this will be a big help. Thanks, Jason
