How do you get CBECC-Com to do the correct Mandatory U-factor checks for Metal Buildings?

SECTION 120.7 of Title 24-2013 has "MANDATORY INSULATION REQUIREMENTS" which CBECC-Com checks the modeled constructions against. There are different minimum U-factors depending on the type of envelope element (i.e. wall, roof, etc.) and the type of construction (i.e. metal frame, wood frame, etc.) including "Metal Building" constructions. These minimum U-factors are less stringent, so your modeled construction may exceed the typical minimum U-factor and trigger an error in CBECC-Com, but in reality should comply.

What materials need to be included to get CBECC-Com to recognize the less stringent Mandatory U-factors for Metal Buildings?

From CBECC-Com help staff:

CBECC-Com applies the Metal Building mandatory u-factor checks to walls that use a construction that includes the material "Metal Siding - 1/16 in." Metal building roofs are those that include a composite material of framing type “metal” with the framing configuration of "RoofMetalScrewDown," "RoofMetalStandingSeam," or "RoofMetalStandingSeamFilledCavity." Any other construction is classified into one of the other categories.
