Yes you can; building physics works the same anywhere in the galaxy!

Yes I agree to that ..Basically I got stuck where you set template and assign climatic zones . As openstudio includes only climatic zones according to the different states of America .

You can map the ASHRAE climate zones to any site using the International Climate Zone Definitions table here: http://www.aashe.org/files/documents/STARS/20081111_cztables.pdf.  Most sites in India are climate zone 1.
