I want that the operable window opens in certain moments of the day, when the temperature goes higher than 26 C°. Is there a tutorial about that for OPEN STUDIO?

The easiest way to model operable windows in OpenStudio is to use an EnergyPlus Measure named "Add Wind and Stack Open Area" that creates ZoneVentilation:WindandStackOpenArea objects for perimeter zones with an external wall. If you want natural ventilation to occur when the ZONE air temp is higher than 26C, then set the Minimum Indoor Temperature field to "26".

DISCLAIMER: I have used this measure myself a handful of times with success, but haven't fully tested it thoroughly for full functionality.

Click on Measures tab on the left, then drag the Wind and Stack Open Area measure from the library on the right into the "Drop Measure From Library to Create a New Always Run Measure" window in the middle under EnergyPlus Measures. Click on the name in the window, and you should see the measure's input fields that you can edit on the right.

Thank you, I've just downloaded all the ten measure of the fenestration, including "add wind and stack open area", but when I want to apply, it is missing. Why?

The folders of each measure must be saved on a specific directory so that OpenStudio can recognize it. To find this directory, click on the My folder icon near the lower right corner of the Measures tab in OpenStudio (should be C:\Users\"Your Name"\OpenStudio\Measures). If you click on the "Find Measures on BCL" button near the lower right corner of the "Measures" tab in OpenStudio, or use the OpenStudio menu command "Components & Measures -> Find Measures", then select the measure you want to download, it will automatically be saved in the correct directory.

yes, the directory is the one you wrote, but I see that my Bcls are downloaded in C:\Users\Myname\BCL, instead the folder "Measures" is empty. In this Bcl folder I can see all the BCLs I've downloaded untill now. Every folder has these elements : resources, tests, measure.rb , measure (xml). Here there is also the folder of "add wind and stack open area" (renamed as 8055497a...) but there are just 2 elements : measure.rb, and measure (xml). It is missing the folder "tests" in which usually I can find the OSM downloaded. How can I do?

Ah, yes there is a separate directory for measures from BCL. Each measure is saved with a cryptic mix of numbers and letters. This is the Unique Identifier (UID) for the measure, which you can find in the measure.xml file. The "tests" folder is optional and used only when the measure author tests the measure agains various models. It isn't required to run the measure. Have you click on the "Sync Project Measures with Library" button near the lower right corner of the Measures tab in OpenStudio? Or closed and reopened OpenStudio after downloading the measure(s)?

yes I tried to cloes and reopen open studio but nothing has changed. I'm afraid I'm not able to find the "sync project measures with library" button. Where is that button?

The most recent version of EnergyPlus made this measure defunct. You will have to update the EP measure code or download the OpenStudio version. This video covers it in depth: https://youtu.be/EhnTRVamENA
