Cannot access BCL in OpenStudio
I created a model in SketchUp and was editing a few components in OpenStudio V 1.11.0. I wanted to access additional materials and constructions, so I created a BLC account. I then went to Components & Measures > Find Components, and entered my BCL authorization key (the string of letters and numbers under "Legacy API Key" in my BCL account dashboard). I receive an error that the key is invalid?
Please help, thanks!
Interesting, for me in the dashboard on BCL I see "API 1.1 key": and not "Legacy API Key". not sure why you are seeing something different. If you copied and pasted your key from BCL to OpenStudio make sure it doesn't have a trailing space.
I do see "API 1.1 key" also. I copied and pasted from BCL to OpenStudio without a trailing space, and I get the same error. Is it possible that I need to update OpenStudio, since I realized I don't have the latest version?
I don't think that is the issue, but it is worth a try to try a 1.12.x installer. If that doesn't work then email your user name and the email you registered with to OpenStudio@NREL.gov. We can make sure the account is active.
@ARZ1646. Your account looks good. At first I was having issues testing your key on Mac, but now it is working on mac and windows. Can you try again and let me know if it works.
Before you try the key just to clean things up rename a directory named "BCL" that is right under your user name (on Mac or Windows). to something like "BCLx". The OS app should make a new directory named "BCL" when you enter your key.
Tried renaming BCL directory so OpenStudio created a new one, still have same error. NREL also looked into it a bit but couldn't figure out what's wrong, their BCL expert is out until Monday and will dig into it.
