I am trying to import the idf files of DOE's reference building models into OpenStudio 1.12.0 but I get the error message: "File is not valid to draft strictness". I read in other posts that this is a common issue with the idf files but in my case no info (HVAC, construction, schedule, nothing) is imported into OpenStudio. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a place to directly download the OSM versions of DOE's idf files?

HVAC, etc are not imported from IDF. However, to create the DOE reference buildings you can apply the create_doe_prototype_building measure from the BCL.

No problem. If this or @dradair's answer works out for you, you can upvote and accept the answer so that anyone who comes across it knows this is a good solution.
