U-value limit of "WindowMaterial:SimpleGlazingSystem"

asked 2016-08-12 15:54:16 -0500

updated 2017-06-02 18:23:20 -0500

In EnergyPlus inputout reference, it shows the limit of U-value for material "WindowMaterial:SimpleGlazingSystem" is from U-5.8~7.0 W/m2.K. However, in ASHRAE 90.1-2010, for climate 1 such as Thailand, the skylight U-value is from 7.72~11.24 W/m2.K. In this case, should I use other window materials?

@Archmage, thanks! now I understand the reason for U-value limit setup. I think I can only use U-5.8W/m2.K, not sure if it will be acceptable to reviewer?

@Yan, have you already submitted this model to evaluation? Is it LEED certification? I'm having the same problem. Thanks!
