Hello,

I am using open studio 1.5 to model a multi-storey building which has split units in its rooms. I couldn't find a suitable HVAC system that matches split units. Can anyone help with that? Is it OK to insert a VRF system instead?

Thank you, Deapina.

Are the split systems split AC units that have no heating? If you are you can use a PTAC and turn off the heating by setting the rated capacity and maximum water flow rate of the heating coil to zero.

Another option is to build an air loop with a "Unitary - Single Speed DX cooling - Cycling - Elec reheat" and turn off the electric reheat.

Another way to disable a coil is to create a schedule that is always off (0) and assign it to the coil availability schedule. I've used this successfully on the heating coil of cooling only FCUs.
