Hello everyone, I am in the need of help. I have used the window to wall ratio formula as is indicated in the example at the jeplus website, i manage to make the window to change dimensions based on a centre point. However, it also moves the window away from the base surface therefore there is no overlap.

Please I would appreciate if anyone could help me since I have been struggling to solve this for over a week.

Thank you

Yes, it is quite easy to make mistakes when editing the geometry of the window... You can post the section of the IDF file that you are editing, including the wall surface, here to have it checked.

Thank you Yi, I managed to fix the issue by constructing the Windows under the window input section on energy plus. Apparently, exporting the IDF from the openstudio interphase caused the fenestrations to have different coordinates the the ones specified by energy plus. By anually replacing the fenestrations for windows the problem was solved

Is there an OpenStudio problem or bug here? Just trying to understand.

Apparently, there is a bug, since the fenestrations created in openstudio were displaced when using WWR formula on JE Plus. When creating the windows inside the Energy plus interphase, the geometry coordinates had to be set to lower left corner before the creation of windows, otherwise if set to upper left corner Energy plus was not abe to create the window geometry enclosed in the host surface. Hope this helps clarify the issue. It is important to note I am using the openstudio pluggin for the Sketchup pro 2016 OSX.

Thanks. I am not sure whether that qualifies as a bug or simply as an "impedance mismatch" between OpenStudio and JEPlus. I filed an issue with OpenStudio to try to get this looked at. PS what EnergyPlus interface are you using? DesignBuilder? Something else?

I'm not exactly sure what the issue was here? @Rafa-el-guerra, did you use the legacy OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-in (IDF file based) to create your geometry? Did you use the new OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-in (OSM based) to create your geometry? I don't know how J-EPlus modifies windows, if this is a built in thing or possible user error. I'm not really sure what issue was caused by OpenStudio and if there was an issue if it was caused by the legacy OpenStudio or the new OpenStudio?

@Yi Zhang, do you know what the issue was here? Does JEPlus require geometry in Lower Left Corner convention?
