Hi All,

Does anyone know how to view the EnergyPlus simulation result hourly loads data?

Specifically, I'm using CBECC-Com to run a simulation. It'll generate a .csv file for me which contains hourly "cooling energy" use. But how do I look at the hourly load? Further more, how do I look at the load for each room or each system?

In addition, it there a way to look at different load component such as solar gain, conduction gain, etc.?

Are you asking how to plot the data in the CSV file, how to request CBECC-Com export data that is not currently in the results file, or something else?

I can elaborate on the question from Yiyu..

The problem is the CSV file provides hourly ENERGY data (i.e. electricity used by cooling equipment), but we want to review hourly LOAD data (i.e. cooling load in Btu/h for systems and/or zones).

We're trying to test theories related to the cause of variations in annual energy use between the baseline and proposed models. In order to understand differences caused by the envelope, we need to isolate and understand this load. If we just look at energy, we can't tell how much of the difference is due to the envelope versus the operation of the mechanical system.

The next step would be to understand the contributors to the cooling load.. For example, how much is solar gains versus wall conduction, etc.

Is there any way to understand what the results are in EnergyPlus? Given that the columns provide ENERGY data, for electricity, heating, and cooling, does this mean we need to apply COP to these to get the energy loads before any losses from equipment?
