Hello all,

I've been adding space types to my energy model and I've come across a confusing error. The severe errors I'm getting are:

* Severe * No Location given. Must have location information for simulation. * Warning * Did you realize that you have Latitude=0.0, Longitude=0.0 and TimeZone=0.0? Your building site is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. * Warning * Weather Environment(s) requested, but no weather file found * Severe * GetNextEnvironment: No location specified, program will terminate. * Fatal * Previous Conditions cause program termination.

I've made sure that my weather file and design days are specified in the model, but it seems like open studio is not reading this into the E+ simulation. My previous revision did not have this problem and the only thing I have updated since this revision was replacing the default ASHRAE space types with my own space types. This is confusing since I still have the same weather file and design days file loaded from the previous revision. I tried inputting a different weather and design days file, but these errors still keep appearing. I'm not sure what to make of this.

I've posted my .osm file below if anyone could take look, I've tried everything I thought of to fix this error:

Thanks!

To clarify, I got my weather file and design days files from the energyplus website. I have not altered these files at all.

Can you try re-setting your weather file to see if that fixes the issue? If not, which weather file are you using? Does it have latitude and longitude information in it?

Macumber,

Yes, I have tried to reload another weather file and then tried reloading another weather file, neither of which are working. I downloaded the weather file from the energyplus.gov weather data and it does have latitude, longitude, time zone, and elevation in it.

I downloaded your .osm, downloaded the Andrews weather file, assigned it, and ran it with 1.11.0 on Windows 7. There are a bunch of Severe errors about surfaces missing constructions and not being assigned to zones, but nothing about the location. Can you check in the .err file and make sure that the simulation is running using E+ 8.5.0?

Hi aparker,

Thank you for taking the time to look at my .osm file. I looked at the .err file and indeed E+ 8.5.0 is running. I'm using OpenStudio 1.11.0 and Windows 7 just like you. Curious that it runs with your software.

I downloaded my .osm file and when I opened it, it popped up with an error for my weather file. I reloaded the weather file and it worked with the fatal errors. It's weird because I tried doing the exact same thing with the .osm file on my computer (delete it and reload it) but it didn't solve the problem. Seems like there was some kind of corruption with my original file
