I'm a beginner to openstudio and I'm looking for a simple and effective way to get the zone outdoor air volume flow rate and I'm not familiar with getting data from Energyplus directly. I wonder what is the best variable to get that given that I tried the variable Zone Mechanical Ventilation Mass Flow Rate shown in the picture and got no output.

You want Zone Mechanical Ventilation Current Density Volume. Note that this only reports the outside air that's delivered Mechanically as the name implies.

You might want Zone Infiltration Current Density Volume as well.

Output:Variable,*,Zone Mechanical Ventilation Current Density Volume, hourly; !- HVAC Sum [m3]
Output:Variable,*,Zone Infiltration Current Density Volume,hourly; !- HVAC Sum [m3]
