I have a problem when I simulate the Openstudio 1.4. I wanted to define each wall with materials that I have chosen and I get errors on some walls . I have checked these errors and have well-defined walls and I have used tools surface matching. I write an error type:

Severe * BuildingSurface:Detailed="SURFACE 480", invalid Outside Boundary Condition Object=<blank>. * ~~~ * ..Outside Boundary Condition="Surface" must be non-blank. * ~~~ * ..This surface will become an adiabatic surface - no doors/windows allowed. * Severe * BuildingSurface:Detailed="SURFACE 157", invalid Outside Boundary Condition Object=<blank>. * ~~~ ** ..Outside Boundary Condition="Surface" must be non-blank.

So I can not find where I can have the problem Thank you very much

One possibility is that you have two matched surfaces in OpenStudio in two different spaces, but only one of these spaces belongs to a thermal zone. The space that is not assigned to a thermal zone will not be translated to E+ and may cause this error.

Hi, It looks like you have left "Outside Boundary Condition Object" field blank. You have to write the name of the surface to which your SURFACE 157 is attached.

You can use search tool in Openstudio and can find out the name of that surface.

Hope this will help.

You can also search the surface in your IDF file by using a text editor.

Sorry for answering so late. Thanks for the replies . The problem was that a surface was defined in a thermal area and the other not .

Thank you very much
