Interior doors for PMV study in openstudio

asked 2016-04-20 04:23:00 -0500

I am studying Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) of a school.Since when I create interior doors I have some issues in os and also its time consuming for running simulation.

I would like to know that can I ignore interior doors and do not create them in my OS model, would it decrease the accuracy of the pmv result? and if it would decrease, is it a significant decrease or not?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

This will depend if you are modelling cross-flow ventilation between different zones or not and how air-tight your building is. If you think it is OK to assume negligible air flow between zones (e.g. classroom and corridor) then you can possibly ignore interior doors. Obviously, this will speed up your simulation as you will have less number of sub-surfaces.
