Problem with the BCL auth key

Hello,

until now i had no problems with downloading components and measures directly from the OS plugin, but now, suddenly (a few ays ago a had no problems) i get the message that my auth key is invalid.

My first thought was that my licence got expired, but this is not the case, because i am still registered on the BCL web page and can download components and measures from it. I have not changed my computer, or the internet connection form which i access the BCL and i have not upgraded my OS version.

Does anybody have some suggestions what can be wrong ?

Tnx David

I'm not sure but this looks like the same issue people were having a week ago. @Kyle Benne, is that likely?

I checked with @kflemin because I know we are getting ready to push new auth code to the BCL (unifying logins with energyplus.net), but she tells me that hasn't happened yet. There have been some intermittent outages, and she suggests trying again and reporting if the problem persists.

Hello. Tnx for your answer.

The problem is still the same, Today i tried with unistaling and reinstaling OP and Sketchup, but it did not make a change. I am still not able to download measures or components from OS.

Should i try with a new account and new auth key?

We have been experiencing some outages during the night (1am-4am Mountain time). The next time you try to access from the OS plugin, could you also try going directly to the BCL in a web browser? Let me know if you are able to reach the site or if it is also down. You can email me directly at katherine dot fleming at nrel dot gov and we can figure out what's going on.

If it had been working and stopped all of the sudden, it could have been a temporary outage, or a change on your end related to firewall or proxy. When it worked before was it from the same location or were you at home vs. at the office?

In OpenStudio and PAT you can configure the proxy by going to Preferences->Configure Internet Proxy. Enter your proxy URL, port, and username/password. Check with your IT department on the configuration if you cannot find it on your computer. The username/password field is optional on some proxies.

I have not changed the location from where I worked, also i did not change anything in my firewall. I tried it now on a different location, but the problem is the same. I do not know much about proxy or URL, but i think that my computer does not use a proxy server to communicate with my LAN...i would contact my IT department, but i have not got one, i am a student working on my master thesis :)

Maybe tommorrow the problem will disappere as sudenly as it appered, either way, thank you for your answer!
