Did you download the 32 bits or 64 bits version of OpenStudio?

32 bits version for openstudio and sketchup 2016

The error message indicates that it failed loading one of the later OpenStudio modules, normally it would fail on the first module so something is odd. Can you translate the error message to English for us?

macumber's avatar macumber  ( 2016-02-04 15:36:33 -0500 )edit

The error in english is something like:

"Error loading OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-In: 127: Impossible to locate the specify procedure. - Init_openstudiomodelhvac C:/Program Files/OpenStudio 1.10.0/Ruby/openstudio/openstudiomodelhvac.so"

This is exactly the same problem and error I've been encountering so far! UPDATE 03/07/16: issue solved using version 1.10.4! My O.S.: Windows 7 Pro, Service Pack 1, OpenStudio: 1.10.0 (not working version) using 32 bit build, Energy Plus 8.4.

You have the 1.10.4 in this link https://www.openstudio.net/developers, i hope it works

By installing OpenStudio 1.10.4 I ONLY managed to run the OpenStudio program. The OpenStudio plug-in for SketchUp is NOT working as before! Any suggestions?

Giorgio C.'s avatar Giorgio C.  ( 2016-03-04 04:05:51 -0500 )edit

Giorgio, did you have this problem with OS 1.10.0 and OS 1.10.4? Using 32 bit build each time?

macumber's avatar macumber  ( 2016-03-04 09:27:16 -0500 )edit

I'm having this problem with both of them (OS 1.10.0 and OS 1.10.4). Yes, using 32 bit build each time. In other words the OpenStudio PLUG-IN for SketchUp never worked, always the same error message!

Giorgio C.'s avatar Giorgio C.  ( 2016-03-04 10:16:53 -0500 )edit

I was just able to duplicate this on a virtual machine, I suspect it may be a bad build, I am going to test other installers.

macumber's avatar macumber  ( 2016-03-04 12:18:15 -0500 )edit

The SketchUp plug-in should work OpenStudio 1.10.4, I just tested this on my virtual machine. What error do you seen with the SketchUp plug-in in 1.10.4?

macumber's avatar macumber  ( 2016-03-04 12:34:38 -0500 )edit

No, I'm sorry to tell you that also OpenStudio 1.10.4 doesn't work as a SketchUp plug-in! It actually works the application but the Sketch-Up PLUG-IN does not! I never managed to make the plug-in work on my pc! I get the same error as the user Monteiro: first this pop-up windows appears: link textthen, ANY choice I make, I get this other pop-up windows: (http://i68.tinypic.com/2uhs4t3.jpg) which translated to English means: "Error loading OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-In: 127: Impossible to locate the specify procedure. - Init_openstudiomodelhvac ...

Giorgio C.'s avatar Giorgio C.  ( 2016-03-05 08:45:37 -0500 )edit

No matter how the OpenStudio version is, the result is always the same: 1) Same identical error as the user Monteiro; 2) SketchUp PLUG-IN never worked! The only difference between versions 1.10.0 and 1.10.4 is that with the latter the APPLICATION does work! (With OS 1.10.0 not even the application worked!)

@Giorgio C. 1.10.4 has been verified to work with SketchUp so I don't think that is the problem. My guess is that your SketchUp install is still trying to load 1.10.0, this would happen if you re-installed 1.10.0 after 1.10.4. To fix this, try re-installing 1.10.4. If that doesn't work, try manually pointing SketchUp to your 1.10.4 installation by copying the files as described in this post

Macumber thanks a lot, you were right!!! I re-installed 1.10.4, but I had the same problem, then as a last attempt, I manually tried to point SketchUp to my 1.10.4 installation by copying the files as described in that post [although I actually had this directory (C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2016\SketchUp), I tried the same!] and it worked!!! For the first time ever the OpenStudio PLUG-IN is now working on my pc!

I would suggest downloading the installer and installing again. If the problem persists try the steps in this troubleshooting guide.

Update The 32 bit Windows installer for OpenStudio 1.10.0 is broken, the openstudiomodelhvac.so file is corrupt. I tested the 1.10.3 and 1.10.4 builds and these both worked for me (both the OpenStudio Application and SketchUp plug-in worked).
