Hi there!

I am quite new to Openstudios. I am currently modelling an existing building that is surrounded by dense trees in certain areas and less dense trees in others which creates good shade for the building. I wanted to use shading surfaces to model the trees, is this the best way to do it? Is it possible to adjust the transparency of the shading surfaces so it better resembles the actual situation? Any help is welcome.

You can associate a transmittance schedule with shading surfaces which allows you to have a custom transmittance value that can be static or vary throughout the year. It's described in more detail on this post.

But the others properties of the tree that influence in the thermal environment, how should be simulated? in other questions was suggested used RoofVegetation materials o people properties. There are any update information about how simulate trees?
