Hey all,

Very urgent matter that has been very frustrating. I am creating a model and there is a certain point where when I try to add another floor with multiple spaces the .osm file will load into Sketchup but be blank space. I can put a single zone on the floor I am trying to create but the instance I break that 1 zone up into 2 and match everything up, when I go to reopen to make sure it worked correctly, nothing is displayed in Sketchup. It is as if everything has disappeared. This is an extremely frustrating problem that I cannot seem to find a solution too.

It sounds like you are creating Sketchup objects in 3D with the Sketchup tools instead of sketching the 2D floorplan (with Sketchup tool) and creating the Openstudio "spaces from diagrams" as shown here. If you are only creating/saving Sketchup objects, when you save an OSM file it will be empty. And, empty when you open the OSM again. But when you say match everything up, it sounds like you are indeed creating OS spaces...

Are you saving the .osm file using the menu command " Extensions -> OpenStudio -> File -> Save OpenStudio Model "? If you are using the normal " File -> Save " command in SketchUp, it will only save your .skp file and lose all energy model info.

Hi D, Are you seeing any warnings or errors when you open the file? I have experienced "disappearing models" during intersection and surface matching. Usually the model will go "wireframe" as well. Are you seeing this type of behavior?

Might also check these posts, if you haven't already done so: https://unmethours.com/question/5030/...https://unmethours.com/question/12651...

So I'm on the 6th floor of the building. Have been making the floor layouts the exact same the entire way up from what I can recall. And now all of a sudden it will not save properly.

And yes I am saving as an .osm file. I have done the first 5 floors already.Saved each floor as an iteration and all open properly.
