Problems running OpenStudio 1.9.4 measures: Radiance daylighting measure and fan_assist_night_ventilation
Hi guys,
I’m facing a few troubles with OS 1.9.4 (win 7 64 bits machine, have the right tools installed and indicated in OSapp), above all with the measures tab.
I’ve just uninstalled and reinstalled OS 1.9.4. All the applications are in default directories. The general problem is that the OSapp often shuts down when adding o removing a measure.
I’m trying to use 2 important measures: Radiance daylighting measure and Night Ventilation (but I think it’s a general problem with Ruby o something like this).
Radiance Daylighting Measure
I sent a message in this post last week, and they told me (sending the file) that it ran well on other machine, so I guess it comes from something in mine…? Changing a few things today (uninstalling Ruby and other Radiance versions from C: hard desk) I have a “new” sterr file:
DL is deprecated, please use Fiddle skies\render_sky_input skies\render_sky_skyfuncs
So it runs the simulation but none of the Radiance results expected met… All values are 0.
fan_assist_night_ventilation
Should be important to mention that 2 days ago, it didn’t show this message… Now I can’t load the measure. I have this message:
Process exited with a non-zero exit code of: 1
DL is deprecated, please use Fiddle

Do you have any idea, suggestion, please…?

I did file an issue for the fan assist night ventilation measure when there is more than one zone between the exterior zone and the vertical shaft, but I don' think that is what you are hitting. The measure has not been updated on BCL, so something else may have caused the error you see. Did you upgrade OpenStudio? I also notice that you are running the measure in 'Apply Measures Now'. It was intended to be run once on a model, it may have unexpected behavior if you run it twice. If you send model to OpenStudio@nrel.gov I can look at it
As for the Radiance measure issue, I would again suggest we speak offline and post a final resolution once we reach one. This forum is not intended to be the record of trial and error, rather it's a question and answer site. We can use your original question/post on the Radiance topic as a final resting place for The Answer. In the meantime, please put up your model and run directory on Dropbox or similar and email me the link at robert.guglielmetti@nrel.gov, and we'll see what's what -- sound good?
