Been staying busy, just trying to get ready for winter now. It is not a pleasant season where I am from.

Yes OpenStudio is compatible with SketchUp 2016. SketchUp 2016 will be the default install location for the OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-in starting in OpenStudio 1.10.0 (December release). In the meantime, you can install OpenStudio 1.9.0 with SketchUp 2016 by following the instructions here, just replace SketchUp 2015 with 2016 and use the version of OpenStudio you have.

SketchUp 2016 introduced extension signing for security reasons. OpenStudio versions below 1.10.0 will not have security certificates and will require you to manually approve loading the OpenStudio plug-in, see this article for more information. OpenStudio 1.10.0 and above will be signed and will not require manual approval.

Installation of the legacy plug-in is also the same in 2016 and will also require manual approval to load.

Will the new version of OpenStudio 1.10.0 be backwards compatible with SketchUp 2015 or will an upgrade to 2016 be necessary? Thanks in advance.

OpenStudio 1.10.0 will be backwards compatible with SketchUp 2015. However, you will have to manually install the 1.10.0 plug-in to the SketchUp 2015 directory. Does that make sense?

I think so... Will test and see once everything is released. Thanks for the info.

Hi,

I've tried to use OpenStudio 10.9.0 with SketchUp 2016. The installation worked fine. But somehow created surfaces and zones appears twice in the idf file. When I try to delete one of the duplicated surfaces both are removed. Any idea where this comes from?

Thanks.

Welcome to unmet hours. This is not an answer, but rather a question. Can you ask it as a separate question with a bit more detail please?

This would be better as a separate question, can you ask it as a new question?
